Professor Dr Eunice Taylor (BSc PhD CertEd) is an international food safety expert with over 35 years of experience in education, training, consultancy and research. In 2001 she established the International Centre for HACCP Innovation at the University of Salford, and launched the world’s first Masters in HACCP, which is now delivered in 30 countries through e-learning. Eunice is involved in various Expert Panels within the commercial sector and numerous projects for the World Tourism Organization, World Health Organization and Food & Agriculture Organization of the UN.
She represents the International Federation of Environment Health at the Codex Food Hygiene Committee and is a member of the FAO/WHO expert group on ‘HACCP Implementation in Small and Less Developed Businesses (SLDBs)’. She is a member of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority Scientific Committee and has been involved in the establishment of the ADFCA Essential Food Safety Program. In 2002 Eunice was seconded for 2 years to the HACCP Branch of the UK Food Standards Agency, where she led the development team that produced a new method of applying HACCP principles in small food service businesses across England. In 2004 Eunice then led the expert team that developed the international product ‘Menu-Safe’, an innovative new HACCP system designed for food service establishments. In 2009 Eunice joined the Canadian University of Dubai to establish a centre of excellence for research, education and training in food safety across the Middle East. The University is now working with Dubai Municipality to train and support businesses in the implementation of the Menu-Safe food safety management system.
