Mr Shehata is currently Head of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs for Mars Africa, India and the Middle East region where he is responsible for managing health, food safety and regulatory programs.
Mr. Shehata holds a degree in Chemical Engineering form Alexandria University, Egypt. He has more than 17 years of R & D experience working mainly for FMCG companies holding many various positions in product development, technology, quality management and food safety.
Mr Shehata joined Mars in 2003 as the GCC region Product Development Manager. In 2004, he became the Site R&D Head for Mars GCC where he was responsible for managing Quality, Food Safety, Technology and implementing the Mars Quality Management Process for both the Dubai and Egypt factories. In 2008, he was appointed as Head of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Mars Africa, India and the Middle East. Mr. Shehata is a member of the Mars Scientific Affairs senior leadership team and represents Mars in ILSI India and North Africa region.
Prior to joining Mars, Mr. Shehata worked for PepsiCo in the Middle East and the United Kingdom where he worked in R&D as the Product and Technology Development Manager.
