MARS Ingredient Safety Scientist Dr Javier Gil-Lostes obtained his Diploma of Advanced Studies and his MSc in Chemistry from the University Zaragoza, Spain. Following this he studied for his PhD in Toxicological and Medicinal Chemistry at University College London. Dr Gil-Lostes joined Mars in 2009 as the Global Ingredient Safety Scientist based in Slough, UK where he responsible for supporting all Mars units on food safety, product development risk assessments and providing technical chemical and toxicological advice and assistance. He currently represents Mars at the ILSI Europe Food Allergy meetings and also is a member of the Mars Global Toxicology Group Dr Gil-Lostes has written and had published over many scientific papers on the subject of biological and toxicology.
