Harold is food technologist with a wide experience in inspection, testing and food safety management/quality management system auditing of food factories and hotels. He worked as Instructor for Food Technology Students in the Philippines, gained experience in various food industries while working in food factories and in SGS Philippines.
After working for SGS Philippines, he moved to Dubai Municipality Food Control Section and work as food inspector, then promoted to food hygiene officer, where he handled HACCP Verification audits for various food factories and hotels. He was also responsible for monitoring HACCP consultants, training and certification companies including review of factory lay-outs for HACCP compliance He is currently working as conformity officer at the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) and is currently responsible for food safety management system/HACCP/ISO 9001 assessment of food factories applying for product certification under the Emirates Quality Mark Scheme. He is also in-charge of documenting and implementing the quality system of the Conformity Affairs Department according to ISO/IEC Guide 65. He was also knowledgeable in various ISO guides for product certification such as ISO Guide 67 and 53. Up to date, he has audited around 120 factories in Asia, UAE and Europe which gave him a strong background in product certification and system certification in various food products.
