Dina Sulaiman Al-Kandari is PhD student at the University of Reading (UK) and is currently researching and analyzing Food Control Systems in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries. Prior to starting her research, she completed her MSc in Food Science at the University of Reading. Dina completed her BSc and MSc Diploma programs in Microbiology from Kuwait University before heading for UK and has worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Department of Food and Nutrition, KU.
In 2006, she was granted a scholarship by KU for graduate study in Food Safety and the PhD program.
Her research work titled 'A Situation Analysis of the Food Control Systems in Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries,' has been published in the Journal of Food Control. She has attended the first Food Safety Conference in Bahrain which took place December 22-24, 2008, the 2009 DIFSC Conference as well as the 2009 Codex Meeting for the Near East in Tunisia.
