Dr. Virginie Barrere


Dr. Barrere is a research associate at the University Laval in Quebec, Canada. She works in the validation of allergen detection methods and reference material development. She is working on common guidelines for food fraud management in food industry and has developed with partners a food fraud management training in Quebec for both industry and regulators. She owns a PhD in Parasitology from McGill University and an engineer diploma in food safety and food microbiology.
