Mr Robert C. Baker is a microbiologist with more than 30 years’ experience and is currently the Director of Mars Global Food Safety Center and Global Head of Technical Food Safety Development. He is responsible for leading food safety capability building projects including: the design, construction and commissioning of the Mars Global Food Safety Center; leading food safety science projects in the areas of mycotoxin management, quantitative risk assessment, improved statistical sampling techniques, and providing food safety support, consultation and guidance to various NGOs. Since joining Mars Mr Baker has held multiple positions in the area of Quality and Food Safety management, and is the co-developer of a patent for sterilizing low acid foods using ultra high pressure. Before his most recent position, Mr Baker led the development and execution of the Corporate Food Safety Management Strategy.
